LUXE ORIENTA: Wear Oriental Aesthetics to the World

I have always been fond of Chinese traditional elements. As an overseas Chinese, sharing our national culture fills me with confidence and pride. I’ve previously shared many stories about custom cheongsams, yet I had little experience with mamian skirts. I’m truly grateful to the platform and LUXE ORIENTA for giving me the chance to explore more traditional Chinese garments.

Unboxing & Packaging

Unboxing & Packaging

I picked a mulberry silk brocade top paired with a pure silk Xiangyunsha mamian skirt. The gift box comes in a soft, timeless purple hue printed with delicate patterns. Each piece is individually stored in an organza bag decorated with classic Chinese frog buttons. This is undoubtedly one of the most thoughtfully designed packages I have ever received, making the unboxing experience full of pleasant surprises.

Design & Silhouette

This top features a classic Chinese stand collar and asymmetrical placket accented with frog buttons, exuding retro elegance.

It has a relaxed drop-shoulder cut with fold-over three-quarter sleeves and side slits. I wear size S, which offers a roomy fit that flatters all body types. Let the hem hang naturally for a casual vibe, or tuck it in for a neat, slimming look. Matched with a mamian skirt, it creates a full traditional Chinese look; paired with wide-leg pants or regular skirts, it works perfectly for everyday new Chinese style outfits.

Fabric

Woven from 90% mulberry silk blended with 10% gold thread, the fabric shimmers beautifully even under soft light. It is adorned with intricate floral jacquard patterns.
The unique combination of pink silk and gold thread makes the motifs stand out subtly — understated from a distance, yet rich in fine details up close, greatly elevating the garment’s texture.
The fabric is slightly sheer, so a simple camisole underneath is recommended. This subtle sheerness also lends the top a light, flowing feel.

Design & Silhouette

This is a modernized one-piece mamian skirt with a side zipper, different from the traditional two-piece tie style. It retains the iconic look of a classic mamian skirt while being far easier to put on and take off. There is no need to learn complicated tying techniques or wear an extra underdress.

It features a tailored A-line silhouette and falls just above the ankles. While floor-grazing styles look more ethereal, this length is ideal for daily wear and keeps the hem from getting dirty.

Fabric

Crafted from 100% pure mulberry silk Xiangyunsha, known as the "soft gold" of silk, this fabric is dyed with traditional mud-dyeing craftsmanship and develops an increasingly lustrous finish with wear. The skirt boasts a gradient color transitioning from amber to jet black. Its hem is embroidered with cranes and flowers, traditional symbols of longevity and good fortune. A few loose threads on the embroidery are noticeable but do not affect the overall appearance.

Wearing Experience

Wearing Experience

The silk brocade top has a slightly structured texture and feels extremely comfortable to wear. Despite its loose cut, the sheer fabric subtly reveals your figure and waistline when layered with a camisole or tank top, so it never looks baggy.

As a modernized design, this mamian skirt is as easy to wear as a regular skirt and comes with a built-in soft underdress that feels gentle against the skin. When walking, the front panel stays smooth while the side pleats open and close gracefully. It carries a restrained beauty — understated yet utterly captivating.

The outfit looks most stunning in sunlight. Faint golden glimmers dance on the top, and the Xiangyunsha skirt radiates a warm, gentle sheen. Every detail embodies the exquisite elegance of oriental style. I’ve attached a GIF to show the silk’s natural luster and texture. When the breeze blows, the skirt ripples softly, just like water stirred by spring wind.
Stunning outfit from Luxe Orienta

Final Thoughts

I was born in a land renowned for silk production, so I have loved traditional silk craftsmanship since childhood. Whenever I receive compliments on my Chinese outfits abroad, I am always proud to introduce these timeless garments. Having endured thousands of years of history, Chinese silk costumes never fade; instead, they gain a steady, radiant charm that grows more enchanting with time.
Thank you for introducing such a dedicated brand. I sincerely hope more outstanding Chinese labels like LUXE ORIENTA can thrive and shine brightly on the global stage.
